AIMS

& OBJECTIVES

1.	The Union is a non governmental, non-political, non-sectarian and non-tribal Organization.
2.	To seek ways and means of rapidly improving and increasing food production in Esan land.
3.	To foster the promotion and unity of all farmers within Esan land.
4.	To provide a rallying and coordinated forum for all farmers in Esan Land.
5.	To protect and safe guard the interest and genuine aspiration of its members.
6.	To work in collaboration with other farmers’ organizations with similar aims and objectives.
7.	To cooperate a much as possible with the government, their agencies and other bodies.
8.	To produce in sufficient quality and quantity the under mentioned Agricultural products:
9.	Arable crops
10.	Permanent crops
11.	Livestock
12.	Botanical (herbs)
13.	Helping to regenerate the depicting forest in Esan Land by planting approved trees.
14.	To trade and publicize the Union’s products and activities.
15.	Thrifty and Credit operations.
16.	Stock quality seeds and distribution to farmers.
17.	To provide hire facilities of tractors and other farm Machinery.
18.	To distribute fertilizers and other farm chemicals.
19.	To provide spraying equipment and chemicals.
20.	To provide credit for labour and consumption finance.
21.	To provide fishing gears and equipment.
22.	To disseminate knowledge on modern farming by having the services of farm guilders.
23.	To provide services for harvesting, pooling, grading and transporting.
24.	To market the produce for better price, while providing storage facilities for inputs, farm products, machinery etc.
25.	To undertake simple processing of the products of the farmers.
26.	To procure and to distribute consumer commodities.
27.	Any other measures designed on Cooperative Principles to encourage among its members the spirit and practice of Cooperation.
28.	To check adulterations and prosecute defaulters.
